The photos were taken during my recent trip to one of the major cities here in Negros Occidental (Philippines), the Kabankalan City, in which, it is one of dozens of cities nationwide that celebrates the “Sinulog” Festival.
The festival is celebrated once a year, every 3rd Sunday of January, and it is considered as one of the oldest and grandest festivals. The festival is in honor of Santo Niño, or the Child (infant) Jesus.
Among the major cities that celebrates the “Sinulog” festival are, Cebu City (Cebu), Iloilo (province), Kabankalan City (Negros), Cadiz City (Negros).
More information about the “Sinulog” Festival can be seen via this website: www.sinulog.ph
A day of capturing photos in the festival was very tiring + the time it takes to reach the city (almost 2 and a half hour drive from Bacolod City). At the end of the day, I was so exhausted, but rewarding 🙂
